All too often, evaluation is an end-of-process step at best or ignored at worst. Sometimes, because of the way professionals in our field are organized in the workplace, evaluation is considered someone else’s responsibility. But knowing the desired outcomes and impact from training is critical to informing more meaningful instructional design. This session approaches instructional design from an evaluation perspective and offers a model for designing more impactful training programs by starting with the evaluation in mind. This gives you greater credibility when demonstrating the value you provide to the business leaders you support. This program is intended to be a practical application session, so please bring a learning program you are in the process of designing, will be designing, or think will be needed or helpful in the future. By attending this session, you will be able to:

  • Use evaluation tools to inform instructional design strategies.
  • Create learning activities that are linked to desired impact.
  • Deliver an evaluation plan with every instructional design package.
