Chicago OD Network PDN: Leaders in the Middle: What do they need to be successful

  • January 31, 2020
  • 7:45 AM - 10:00 AM
  • Northern Trust, 181 W. Madison-7th floor, Chicago

Mid Level Leaders within organizations are challenged every day to translate strategy from the Executive Leadership team down to front-line team members. They are often the glue which holds an organization together. However, these critical leaders are provided little to no guidance on the skill set and mindset needed to achieve this goal.

This program will share research and Lake Forest Center for Leadership’s point of view on how these leaders need to think and behave differently. It is a truly a needed mindset shift in order for them to climb the corporate latter and for the organization to achieve their desired business results.

Presenter:

Michelle Humes is the Director of Delivery for the Center for Leadership at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Her goal is to architect leadership development solutions which align to the organization’s objectives and outcomes.

Michelle started her career as a Consultant at Andersen Consulting and Alaris Consulting (now part of PwC). She found her passion on projects as a Change Management expert and made the transition into corporate Learning and Development. Michelle led Learning and Development efforts at TransUnion for five years prior to joining Harvard Business Publishing. At Harvard Business Publishing, Michelle led a team of 5 Learning Solutions Managers to provide best practices in management and leadership development to Global 1,000 clients.

Michelle received her Bachelors of Science in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from Miami University of Ohio. Michelle also holds a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Finance from Loyola University of Chicago. She speaks English, German and Spanish.
