The strengths approach is based upon the belief that each of us have a unique set of gifts, talents, and strengths. These strengths are defined as “patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior” (Clifton, 1998) that impact how we operate, function in teams, and solve problems together. Rather than a focus on fixing weaknesses, the strengths approach invests in learning and applying strength as tools to overcome our weaknesses.

Key Takeaways

  • Identify your natural strengths and talents to gain an understanding of what you do best everyday.
  • Learn strategies for applying your strengths.
