Panelists and co-authors, Catherine Marienau and Kathleen Taylor will sign copies of their book (available for purchase at the time of registration). This event also serves as a preview for the full day workshop Using Brain-Aware Approaches for Optimal Learning the following day led by Drs. Marienau and Taylor that dives more deeply into how to apply empirical brain research to your talent development projects. 

Workshop leaders’ latest book Facilitating Learning with the Adult Brain in Mind: A Conceptual and Practical Guide (Jossey-Bass, 2016) is available for purchase prior to the Networking Dinner at a discounted rate when registering for Dinner and Book Package (Please, see details below).

Cancellation Policy: All event registration fee refund requests must be submitted in writing to admin@atdchi.org prior to any event. Requests must be submitted at least three (3) business days prior to the event to receive a full refund. No refund will be provided for cancellations received within three (3) business days or for event attendee no-shows.


Catherine Marienau is a professor-faculty mentor and coordinator of the Master of Arts in Educating Adults program in the School for New Learning at DePaul University. She teaches, writes, and consults in the areas of adult learning and development, competency-based learning, assessing learning, reflective practice, and "brain-aware" facilitation of adult learning.

Kathleen Taylor is a professor in the Doctorate of Educational Leadership program in the Kalmanovitz School of Education at Saint Mary's College of California. A former Fulbright Scholar, she teaches, writes, and consults internationally in the areas of adult development and learning, learning and transformation, creativity, and "brain-aware" facilitation of adult learning.

 Thomas Reilly, Vice President at CompTIA Learning. Tom is an edtech leader focused on improving learning outcomes using the latest tools and techniques. He has led major skill and knowledge development projects at Dun & Bradstreet Software, Arthur Andersen, and Citadel. Tom also co-founded a successful LMS company in Chicago that delivered learning platforms for leading organizations, such as Baxter, Anheuser-Busch, and PeopleSoft/Oracle.  His latest venture, CompTIA Learning, spawned inside a non-profit trade association, prepares students for rigorous IT certification exams.  Their first product is an adaptive eLearning tool used by more 50,000 students worldwide. Tom & team are now building next generation, immersive 2D and 3D simulations.
