Engagement vs. Culture : Where should we focus today?

Program Description

The headline of AON’s 2017 Report on Global Employee Engagement Trends was simple and direct:  “Employee engagement is falling.” While this recent trend is notable, the longer term record for organizations attempting to increase employee engagement is even more disturbing, especially given the money and resources thrown at the problem.

Many leaders focus exclusively on managing or changing engagement, which is an aspect of the climate of an organization.  Relatively few leaders pay attention to – or even take responsibility for the culture.  While both climate/engagement and culture influence the performance and effectiveness of individuals, groups, and organizations, culture tends to be a more reliable predictor of behavior and performance than climate.

Organizations seeking long term success through increased engagement and a healthy culture don’t neglect a deep examination of both.

Join us for our September meeting to examine both Culture and Climate and present a systematic way of measuring and changing employee experience within organizations. You will come away with the tools and knowledge to help organizations differentiate between culture and climate approaches, and then measure and manage real culture factors that drive results for a thriving business.

Also, one attendee to the September program will be selected by random drawing to receive a seat for the Ultimate Culture Conference on Tuesday, October 3rd! The event will feature presentations from culture and leadership trailblazers, including Marshall Goldsmith, Peter Fuda, Robert Cooke, and a virtual session with Edgar Schein.
